My Review
I'm not sure if Spirited Away by Miyazaki is considered an Asian history film, but it's by far my favorite Asian movie. It's a beautifully magical story about Japanese folk beliefs and is rich in symbolism.
The coming-of-age story is about a young girl, Chihiro, who must save her family from a spell, under which they have been turned into pigs.
If anyone knows how accurate the history is, I'd love to know, but either way, it'll remain a favorite.
If you love fantasy, especially young adult fantasy, I think you'll find this film heart-warming and gorgeous.
