What is a Yurt?

Definition:

A tent-like Central Asian home made of a circular lattice of poles covered with felt or animal skins. The highly-portable yurt is used all across the steppes by nomadic Mongolian and Turkic peoples.

Pronunciation: "yoort"
Also Known As: ger, gher, kiyiz uy, boz uy, kherga, jirga
Examples:

"My Turkmen uncle still lives in a yurt; he doesn't feel comfortable in an apartment building."
