Queen Min of Joseon Korea, who was assassinated by the Japanese in 1895.

On October 8, 1895, Japanese soldiers and Korean collaborators rushed the royal palace in Seoul, and assassinated Queen Min of the Joseon Dynasty. This horrifying act of violence against the royalty of a neighboring sovereign state sparked world-wide protest, which the Meiji government ignored. It was one of the opening moves in a series of events that led to the 1910 Annexation of Korea by Japan.
