Do You Recall the Battle of Hansan-do?

The Battle of Hansan-do doesn't get much press these days, but it was a critical moment in the histories of Korea, Japan and China.

Japan plunged into civil conflict during the Onin War (1467-1477), and this Sengoku (or "Warring States") Period lasted until 1568. Taiko Toyotomi Hideyoshi unified Japan again, and then decided to conquer Joseon Korea and Ming China as an encore. So, he invaded Korea in 1592.

However, things did not go exactly as Hideyoshi planned... and the outcome had repercussions down into the twentieth century. Read the full story here.
